LASIK
Comprehensive
Eye Examinations 
The
examination you will receive will be very thorough and probably one of the most complete you have ever had. Remember, an eye examination is an assessment of you, of your health, of one of the most important sense organs in your body. Treat your choice of a doctor with the respect it deserves. We, at Chippewa Eye Centre, Inc., realize the importance of this examination. Not only can your eye health be assessed, but many times
information pertaining to your general health can be obtained. All examinations include a thorough case history, glaucoma test, screening for
cataracts, internal health assessment, binocular testing, and a prescription (change) if necessary.
Dilation of the eyes and visual field testing is performed regularly. Other aspects of
your vision can be assessed including conditions such as amblyopia, stereopsis testing, eye muscle balance, and visual fields, among others.
Your doctor will then summarize the results of your examination and make his
recommendations to you. |

Contact Lenses
Contact lenses provide patients with freedom from full time spectacle wear. Contrary to popular myths, most people can be fit with contact lenses, especially with the advent of the soft toric lenses (for astigmatism), disposable lenses,
the new bifocal contact lenses, and rigid gas permeable contact lenses. If you have been told you could not wear contact lenses, ask again! Remember there is a difference in the quality of the contact lenses you receive.

Eyeglasses
Quality eyewear is hard to find. We allow only professional, experienced labs to grind the lenses that you will
depend on for your daily vision. We have a wide range of frames including a large variety of high fashion designer styles. We have many different types of lenses to meet your personal needs including
Transitions and no-line bifocals. We also have a large selection of
sunglasses. We are happy to fill outside prescriptions. All eyewear purchased at Chippewa Eye Centre, Inc., will be adjusted free of
charge.

LASIK
LASIK (Laser Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis) is a refractive surgery procedure that is performed with an excimer laser, which uses a cool ultraviolet light beam to reshape the cornea.
LASIK involves creating a flap in the front surface of the
cornea. The flap is then folded out of the way and the laser is applied beneath the flap to reshape the
cornea. By reshaping the
cornea, light can better be focused on the
retina, which provides clearer vision than before.
Both nearsighted and farsighted individuals, as well as people with astigmatism can benefit from LASIK.
