LASIK (Laser Assist In-Situ Keratomileusis) is a refractive surgery procedure that is performed with an excimer laser, which uses a cool, ultraviolet light beam to reshape the cornea. LASIK involves creating a flap in the front surface of the cornea. The flap is then folded out of the way and the laser is applied beneath the flap. By reshaping the cornea, light can be focused on the retina, which provides clearer vision than before.
